It took me all day to finally get around to watching it, but the new ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ teaser trailer has it all! To be completely honest, I kind of feel like they’ve taken a few cues from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. There look to be some visual similarities between the two. The soundtrack also appears to be getting a makeover from the previous installments. Of course, this is all based on what little I’ve seen so far. From what I can tell, however, the movie looks like it’s going to be brilliant.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) seems to have gotten himself in quite the pickle this time around. Don’t take my word for it, though, check out the latest teaser trailer from Marvel below.

Wow! Am I right? The trailer wastes no time kicking things off with Thor dangling from chains someplace awful. Then a quick prelude shows Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, being destroyed by Hela (Cate Blanchett). This explains his current state of dismay. The entire time, the ‘Immigrant Song’ is tying everything together quite nicely. Thank you, Led Zepplin.

“Asgard is dead,” says Hela, just before banishing Thor. He can then be seen crashing down onto some unknown planet. Things go from bad to worse when Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) captures him and delivers him to Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

He’s then forced to battle against his friend and fellow Avenger, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), who doesn’t seem too concerned about avoiding the confrontation. Hulk smash, after all. I do love the comic relief just before Hulk proceeds to ‘smash’ Thor, though. “Yes! We know each other. He’s a friend from work.” I legit laughed out loud.

Of course, we all know that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has something to do with all of this madness. What role he plays, exactly, is yet to be determined. He can be seen sitting next to Grandmaster during the fight between Thor and Hulk. Clearly, he’s involved in some devious plan against his brother, per usual.

I’m sure there are a few diehard comic book fans out there who are slightly infuriated with Thor’s hammer being decimated. That aside, the movie looks amazing.

Be on the lookout for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ when it hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
